What got you started in cycling?
Andrew Armstrong invited me to join the Jesuit cycling team my freshman year of high school after I rode the Hotter ‘n Hell 100 that August.
Why do you ride?
I love to go fast and train.
If you could race any race, which would it be and why?
Tour of California, I’ve always loved California and the idea of racing at a high level in America has always fascinated me.
What are your goals for next season?
Collegiate Track and Road Nationals, U23 Road Nationals, Tour of Gila, Joe Martin Stage Race.
What is your five year goal?
Competitive Cat 1, with opportunities in both the cycling and business worlds.
Who do you look up to?
Mat Stephens and Andrew Armstrong.
What has cycling taught you?
Keep going, no matter how hard it hurts in the moment, it will hurt more to live with yourself after you quit or give up than it will to push through the pain.
What is the most difficult thing about being a cyclist and student?
Finding the balance that allows you to be good at both.
What do you plan to do after school?
Pursue cycling if I have the opportunity to do so.
What would you say to other up and coming athletes who are interested in cycling, some advice?
Never loose sight of what important and always seek to find the proper cycling/school/life balance.
